Waking up at 4 AM while on vacation and getting in a car for an hour ride ? Sure, maybe we have a flight to catch. No one likes it, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. What if that’s not what it is for, and you are trying to convince your family that we really need to be at the pyramids before sunrise ? It’s a hard sale. I am not the one to come up with creative stories, so that’s all I could muster, while still trying to keep the hot air balloon ride a surprise. This was going to be our first time in one — one that actually took flight, that is. Rides are really only safe at that time of day, and of course watching the sun rise and light up the pyramids is as good as you would think it is. But we got way more than that, both in terms of scenery and thrill!
